Obituary for Anthony Louis "Tony" Calleo

Anthony Louis "Tony" Calleo died Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Morristown, NJ. He was 86.
Tony was born in Summit, NJ a son to the late Felicia (Desio) and Henry W. Calleo on August 21, 1935, living in Berkeley Heights, and Stirling, NJ before moving to Gillette in 2020.
He was a self employed mason, contractor and builder for over 50 years before retiring in 2001. He built many homes and buildings in the Berkeley Heights and Long Hill Twp. area. He served for 8 years in the National Guard in the mid 1950s.
He loved hunting and fishing in his younger years, and was known to play the lottery. As a young man he was a talented ball player and later played in a fast pitch softball league.
Tony was predeceased by his wife Rose (Ciambriello) Calleo in 2014, his sister Anna Dojack and his brother-in-law Peter Festante, Sr.
He is survived by his son Darren L. Calleo, Sr. and his wife Angela, his sisters Ida Fesante and Marianne and her husband Robert Massulli. He is also survived by his grandchildren Darren L., Jr., Gina Rose and John Calleo.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4 - 8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Bebout Ave, Stirling, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Mausoleum in Watchung, NJ.
